LUCKNOW: Residents of Lucknow will receive combined water and house tax from the next financial year, as decided at an executive committee meeting of the civic body.

Corporator Laeeq Agha, a member of the EC, praised the decision, stating, “This initiative not only simplifies the tax collection process, but also encourages proactive participation from residents in contributing towards the development of our city.”

Besides, Singh said, residential building owners willing to pay advance house tax for the next financial year (2024-25) by Mar 31 can avail an additional 5% rebate on the tax, increasing the total discount to 15% when combined with the existing 10% and special discounts for advance payment. The EC decided to hold audit of sewerlines laid under Amrut scheme and smart city projects before transferring them to Jal Sansthan.
