RWAs meet Haryana CM, raise structural problems in societies

GURUGRAM: A delegation of RWAs in the city, under the banner of Making Model Gurugram (MMG), met chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday to talk about safety mechanisms and structural audits of residential societies.

The members also raised structural problems in various residential complexes and demanded structural audits be made mandatory for all housing societies.

The residents sought independent evaluation of building structures by an agency at specific intervals during construction, until the occupancy certificate is given.

They also demanded a regular stability audit after construction. “Thy would be accountable through the town and country planning department (DTCP), and hence the department would also be culpable in case of faulty constructions,” said Gauri Sarin, MMG convenor.

The CM said that a committee would be constituted by the government for redressal of complaints on building structures.
