Telangana government to construct Rs 700 crore IT-tower in Malakpet, Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Not to be left left behind in hitech Hyderabad’s march, the Old City is finally all set to log into the tech revolution with an iconic IT tower to come up at a cost of Rs 700 crore at Malakpet.

The IT tower, which will come up on a nearly 11-acre parcel of land and will have a built-up area of around 15 lakh sq ft, will create as many as 50,000 jobs.

The 30-storeyed tower, called iTEK Nucleus, will tower over the Old City’s Moosarambagh area in Malakpet and will boast of a sky lounge with a 360 degree view of Hyderabad city. It will be an Indian Green Building Council certified gold rated building.

The tower is being developed by Telangana government in public-private partnership mode through Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) and Finczars consortium comprising Hyderabad-based Finczars and Mumbai-based Varma Constructions as well as Gurugram-based YFC Projects and has been designed by Old City-based architectural firm Mir Architects & Engineers.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony, KTR said the iconic project will be completed within 36 months and will emerge as the new swanky symbol of the Old City and will tower over Malakpet. He promised the gathering his government will ensure that IT giants set up their offices in the facility, giving a major boost to the entire ecosystem in the Old City.”The Malakpet IT Tower will be designed to promote innovation and collaboration, bringing together experts to develop new technologies and applications,” he said. KTR said his government is making efforts to strengthen infrastructure and transport system keeping in mind the future needs of Hyderabad that is rapidly developing.

The government is working on a detailed plan to develop 415km of metro rail line to cover the entire city. He said Hyderabad has become a shining example of communal harmony thanks to its Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb.
