Ahmedabad civic body tells occupants to get buildings repaired

AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation issued a public notice asking owners of dangerous buildings to get their houses or buildings repaired at the earliest.

The corporation made it clear that such buildings should not be used without repairs. The corporation stated that all buildings including slum quarters, staff quarters or government buildings have to be repaired by the occupants.

The corporation stated that under the Gujarat Provincial Municipal Corporation Act and the Comprehensive Development Control Regulations 2017, the repairs of such buildings are the responsibility of the person holding possession.

The corporation made it clear that any damage to nearby properties will also be the responsibility of such owners.

The corporation issues such notices to those whose houses or buildings are considered dangerous just ahead of the Rath Yatra and the monsoon.
