CHANDIGARH: As many as 99 allottees of the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) small flats face cancellation of allotment due to unpaid rental dues in the range of Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh, with the board issuing notices.
They have been given 20 days to deposit their arrears before the CHB would start cancelling allotment of their units. Once that is done, the allottee is required to vacate the unit. If the appellate authority allows restoration of allotment, the allottee has to pay pending dues with interest and revival charges
The CHB has allotted about 16,000 flats under Small Flats Scheme and about 2,000 flats under the Affordable Rental Housing Complex Scheme.
The flats are located in Sectors 49, 56, 38 West, Dhanas, Industrial Area, Mauli Jagran, Ram Darbar, Maloya (Small Flats) and Maloya (ARHC). Monthly rent has to be paid to the CHB. CHB has uploaded the defaulters’ list on its website.
The dues can be cleared by visiting e-sampark centres or online through CHB website, www(dot)chbonline(dot)in.
