Jamshedpur: 25 families in East Singhbhum get houses under PMAYJAMSHEDPUR: Twenty-five tribal families were on Sunday presented with the keys to pucca houses under Tiring Panchayat in East Singhbhum district under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The beneficiaries, belonging to the Dhibar community, used to live in huts built of mud walls and thatched roofs 42km away from here.

Most of the huts used to be washed away and the poor families were rendered homeless during the monsoon season each year. Now, the lives of these beneficiaries would change for the better with pucca houses, electricity and gas connections, and concrete approach roads connecting the houses to the main road.

Thanking the PM and the district administration for the house, beneficiary Indrajit Dhibar said, “Our dream has come true. Every year, we suffered immense hardships during the rainy season and in extreme winter.”

East Singhbhum DC Vijaya Jadav said the administration will take necessary steps to improve life in rural areas.
