Nashik: MIDC allocates 100 acres in Rajur Bahula for IT Park

NASHIK: The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has identified 100 acres of land to set up an IT Park at Rajur Bahula, 20km from Nashik city.

MIDC officials said they are already in the process of acquiring 350 acres of land for industries and are in the final stage of acquisition. Out of this, 100 acres are to be allotted for the proposed IT Park.

The proposed space will be located adjacent to Mumbai-Agra national highway. Nitin Gawli, regional officer (Nashik region) of MIDC, said they had two options to choose from initally for the park- Akrale in Dindori and Rajur Bahula, towards Vilholi on the outskirts of Nashik city.

“The land acquisition in Rajur Bahula is almost in the final stage and we are expecting possession of the land in the next few months,” said Gawli.

When contacted, other MIDC officials said the decision whether to build an IT Park complex or allot plots to IT units will be taken after the acquisition process is over.

“There is a need to give a boost to the IT Park and Logistic park project. The proposed IT Park will not only create job opportunities but will also add to the economy of the city,” said Nikhil Panchal, president of Ambad Industries & Manufacturers’ Association (AIMA)

The state industries minister Uday Samant during his meeting with the industries last year in Nashik city had declared that the IT Park would be set up in Nashik on 100 acres of land.

Samant had also promised the office-bearers of industrial associations to boost the growth of the IT sector. He had instructed the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) to identify land for the proposed IT Park in Nashik.
