RWAs meet authority officials over pending civic issues in Noida

NOIDA: Over 20 RWAs of residential sectors under the umbrella body of the Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations (FONRWA) held the second lot meeting with Noida Authority officials of work circles 6 to 10 late Tuesday evening over pending civic issues of their areas.

Issues discussed included levelling of drains, problems of encroachment, insects on trees, lack of development of green belts, installation of new swings in parks and direction boards.

Requests for the construction of markets in sectors 112 and 135 were brought up. Improper drainage level, lack of horticulture work, sanitation and upkeep of green belts and plants, etc., were some other issues raised during the meeting. With increasing amounts of dry leaves left untended and dumped across many sectors, of late, residents also complained about rampant mosquito menace, along with insects like flies, moths etc.

Yogendra Sharma, president, and KK Jain, secretary general, of FONRWA urged officials to expedite all pending civic works. Meanwhile, Shripal Bhati, deputy general manager of Noida Authority said that development work is being undertaken in several sectors on the basis of the problems received from the RWAs. He also assured that the issues raised would be processed at the earliest.

To solve the issue of the rise in insects on trees, Rajendra Singh, deputy director horticulture department, of Noida Authority apprised that, “Soon trees will be sprayed with medicine. Along with this, new swings will also be installed in the parks.”

Previously, a meeting of over 30 RWAs was held last Tuesday.
