Structural stability of some TNHB tenements will be reviewed: Tamil Nadu housing minister

CHENNAI: Minister for housing and urban development S Muthusamy on Saturday said structural stability of some Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) tenements – about which there are complaints — would be reviewed.

Briefing reporters after inspecting TNHB’s Brindavan Towers complex in K K Nagar in Chennai, the minister said that steps would be taken to redress the issues.

“One of the important parameters is structural stability. If there are issues over plastering, it can be set right. But, structural stability is pivotal, and external reputed experts would also be engaged for the inspection,” he said.

Asked about the complaints on the quality of construction, he said an inquiry would be conducted to check if the contractor had failed to provide the required features. “But, I can comment only after getting a complete report,” he added.
