All-clear for Chandigarh sector-53 housing scheme

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has got the final nod from its board of directors to launch its Sector 53 housing scheme.

The total number of flats has increased from 340 to 372, with the extra 32 units coming in the EWS category, taking their number to 80.

In a meeting of the board of directors held under the chairmanship of UT adviser Dharam Pal, the brochure for the Self-Financing Housing Scheme-2023 on freehold basis in Sector 53 was approved with minor changes.

“The scheme will be launched after finalising opening and closing dates with the approval of the CHB chairman at the earliest possible,” said Yashpal Garg, CEO, CHB.

The online application process will be kept easy and simple. A helpdesk will be provided at the CHB to assist the people in making online application.

“There will not be any need to submit documents along with the application. The documents relating to eligibility will be asked from those applicants only who are successful in the draw,” said Garg.

The tentative cost will be recovered in five equated installments (each of six months) along with interest at the rate of 12% per annum from the date of issuance of the acceptance-cum-demand letter (ACDL).

Pal said the CHB in consultation with the architect wing of the administration will come out with standard design for lift at the multi-storied dwelling units constructed by the CHB. “It will save allottees from go through a process of various approval and they may avail the benefit of the recently permitted need-based Changes,” said Pal.
